Job Description

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for ensuring that surgical instruments and other medical equipment are properly sterilized and maintained in a sterile environment. This role involves working meticulously to adhere to safety and sanitation standards while supporting the medical staff in providing safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Effectively sterilize, package, and store surgical instruments and medical supplies.
• Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet the needs of surgical teams efficiently.
• Document all sterilization processes and outcomes according to hospital protocols.
• Assist in the inventory and ordering of sterile supplies as required.

Required Experience

• Completion of a Central Sterile Processing Technician program or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Central Sterile Processing certification preferred.
• CPR certification may be required.
