Job Description

The position is for a Registered Nurse in a combined Pediatrics and Oncology unit at Mission Hospital. The candidate will provide care to a patient population consisting of pediatric patients and those undergoing oncology treatment. The unit has a total of 19 beds, which includes 13 pediatric beds and 6 oncology beds, and is staffed with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Cerner EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment plans.

Required Experience

• Pediatric experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in Pediatric Oncology is highly preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• PALS certification.
• BLS certification.
• APHON certification required for oncology nursing.
