Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients with higher oxygen demands, those on dialysis, patients with atrial fibrillation (afib), and individuals post-heart catheterization. This role includes monitoring patients in a step-down unit from the ICU without ventilator or pressor support, and involves managing drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and initiation of sotolol while providing telemetry care.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
• Manage various cardiac drips and monitor patients on telemetry.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct patient education and ensure safety protocols are followed, including isolation precautions.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 1 year of experience with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Tennessee nursing license.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
