This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
3x12 hour shifts, Nights, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days required per 6 weeks. Holidays as needed, no call required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides specialized care in a high-paced environment, treating a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions and trauma situations. The unit specializes in stroke, cardiac, and Level II trauma care. The Emergency Department offers 24/7 interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services and pharmacy assistance.
Responsibilities
- Manage care for patients in the Emergency Department.
- Administer medications, perform assessments, and update patient records in the EPIC system.
- Provide support for special procedures related to trauma and emergency care.
- Collaborate with the medical team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department is required.
- Previous charge nurse experience and Level II trauma experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred.
- Active nursing license required at the time of submission.
