Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days required every 6 weeks. Holidays as needed, with no call requirements.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide care for a diverse patient population, managing a variety of acute and urgent health conditions. The role requires proficiency in critical care procedures and experience in handling trauma cases, supported by comprehensive interdisciplinary teams available around the clock.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to emergency department patients, including triaging and administering medication.
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient status and response to treatments, documenting findings in the EMR system.
- Support and educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and maintain compliance with policies.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department.
- Experience with Level II Trauma Center operations preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license required.
- Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH required.
- CPI, PALS, and TNCC preferred.
