This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Alternating shifts of 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a complex care unit handling patients with various diagnoses including medical, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term care needs. Candidates will be responsible for patient monitoring and the management of a variety of equipment and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient health, including vital signs and any changes in condition.
• Provide care and management for feeding tubes, central lines, and IVs.
• Assist in managing patients requiring isolation precautions and wound care.
• Use Epic for documentation and monitor telemetry as required.
• Participate in rapid response and code team events.
• Float to other units as necessary based on patient care needs.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in MS/Tele.
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 in a medical-surgical setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current NY State Nursing License required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
