Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and goals, as well as physician direction. This role includes overseeing and directing all therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs are designed for effective community reintegration. The therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues, performing additional professional duties related to patient care and therapy program development. Compliance with the organizational Code of Conduct and adherence to safety practices are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and utilize clinical reasoning to create treatment plans focused on patient discharge goals.
• Document medical records clearly, accurately, and in compliance with state and federal guidelines and clinic policies.
• Participate in student training programs as needed, including providing supervision and evaluations.
• Actively pursue professional development and maintain licensure requirements.
• Follow organizational performance improvement methodologies to enhance service quality.

Required Experience

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Active CPR certification.
• Valid state licensure for Physical Therapy practice.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Maine.
• CPR Certification required.
