3-12 hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekend and rotating schedule requirements.
Job Description
The role involves caring for high-risk obstetrical patients in a labor and delivery unit, which has a capacity of 24 beds and maintains an estimated patient ratio of 2:1 to 3:1. The unit specializes in labor and delivery, utilizing GE fetal monitors and the Meditech documentation system. The nurse will provide care during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery care.
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside care for high-risk obstetrical patients.
- Assist in circulating cesarean sections in the labor and delivery area.
- Recover high acuity patients post-operation.
- Participate in patient triage and management in the Obstetrical Emergency Department (OBED).
Required Experience
At least 2 years of experience in high-risk labor and delivery care.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license.
- Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certificate required.
