Day Shift: 07:00-19:00, 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends.
Job Description
The Labor and Delivery unit at Rio Grande Regional Hospital includes 14 labor beds, 2 operating rooms, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds. The unit is staffed by approximately 40 personnel, including registered nurses and certified surgical technologists, to provide care for expectant mothers and their newborns.
Responsibilities
- Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Administer medications including magnesium drip and titration, as well as Pitocin drip and titration.
- Utilize uterine tamponade devices as needed.
- Circulate in the Labor and Delivery operating room as necessary.
- Provide compassionate care to mothers during labor and postpartum periods.
Required Experience
- Must possess neonatal resuscitation (NRP) certification.
- Experience in labor management is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- NRP certification required.
- Intermittent Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required.
