Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care in a 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit. Responsibilities include daily weights, vital signs, intake/output monitoring, hourly rounding, bedside report, and administering various medications and treatments. The unit utilizes an EMR system, Meditech Expanse (PCS), and equipment including BP machines, IV pumps, and wound vacs. Nurses will engage in discharge and admission processes, focusing on postoperative care and telemetry.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and document patient vitals and weights.
- Administer medications and treatment protocols, including cardiac and heparin drips.
- Conduct wound care and manage IV therapies.
- Perform admissions and discharges of patients.
- Engage in hourly rounding and bedside reporting to enhance patient care.
Required Experience
- Telemetry experience is mandatory.
- Postoperative care experience is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
