ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Orthopedic-Neurological (Day Shift) in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

12-hour shifts: 0700-1930; 1900-0730 with a 1/2 hour lunch break. Every-other-weekend commitment required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Orthopedic-Neurological unit. This unit primarily handles elective surgeries related to hips, knees, shoulders, as well as neuro-surgeries, and some fractures resulting from falls. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing orthopedic patients and using PCA pumps effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV fluids and manage PCA pumps as per protocols.
• Collaborate with a team that includes Charge Nurses and Patient Care Techs to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding recovery and post-operative care.

Required Experience

• Experience with orthopedic patients is essential.
• Proficient in using PCA pumps.
• Prior experience in a medical-surgical environment.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Valid RN license in the state of West Virginia or ability to obtain licensure.
