Registered Nurse - Neuro

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position, with night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM on weekends. Options for scheduling include either Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuro unit, which specializes in diverse neurological disorders and postoperative care. The RN will participate in the management of patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, and surgical interventions for spinal issues. This role requires a strong background in neuroscience nursing and proficiency in using EPIC for patient documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Neuro unit.
• Monitor and document patient status using the EPIC system.
• Administer medications and manage G-tubes as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for patient assessment and planning.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and guidelines for titration of medications under physician orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required at the time of submission.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Strong experience in Neuro nursing and recent EPIC system usage.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Charge Nurse and House Supervisor.
