Schedule/Shift
The schedule is for 3x12-hour shifts, night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with at least 8 weekend shifts required per contract.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting with a focus on non-trauma cases. The facility sees a daily census of approximately 120 patients. The RN will be responsible for procedures such as blood product administration, central line management, phlebotomy, and starting IVs. Additional responsibilities include sedation management and the care of ventilated patients.
Responsibilities
- Administer blood products and manage central lines.
- Perform phlebotomy and start IVs as required.
- Provide continuous IV sedation and administer IV vasopressors.
- Conduct procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
- Manage CPAP/BiPAP, interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), and care for ventilated patients.
- Provide triage support and maintain a patient ratio of 1:5.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department.
- Travel experience is welcome for first-time travelers.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Experience with the EPIC charting system is mandatory.
