This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift

Full-Time, Monday-Friday; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with weekend call rotation from 7:00 AM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday.

Job Description

The Surgical Technician prepares the operating room by setting up the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, the technician passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon, and manages surgical equipment and specimens.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery.
• Keep records of use of the Steam Sterilizer.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Organize suture carts and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over rooms in between cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively and transport patients.
• Stock adequate supplies for surgery.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• BLS required.
