Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed, supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, collaborating with the healthcare team, providing direct patient care, and ensuring patient and employee safety, following all relevant protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, developing individualized care plans.
• Facilitate patient information sharing for Initial Team Conferences and weekly re-evaluations.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care following the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team.
• Guide and supervise ancillary nursing personnel effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment adhering to safety protocols.
• Contribute positively to the unit's function, fostering a supportive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested, prioritizing effective use of time and resources.
• Pursue professional development through education and self-study.
• Complete other duties as requested.

Required Experience

Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
