Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Surgical Services

Schedule

This is a mid-shift position with a 4x10-hour schedule (13:00 - 23:30). Call is required for 6 shifts in each 8-week time block, including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our surgical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the operating room. The ideal candidate should have expertise in a wide variety of surgical procedures and possess strong aseptic technique skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures across various specialties including general, orthopedic, and gynecological surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain sterile field during procedures.
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment safely and effectively.
• Participate in the decontamination and sterilization process.
• Ensure proper specimen handling and labeling.
• Assist in patient positioning and preparation prior to surgery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3+ years of surgical technology experience preferred.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred.
• New York State license is required in hand to submit.
