ER Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Required

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

The ER Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize strong critical-thinking skills and a well-rounded clinical approach across a variety of responsibilities. The provider is expected to adapt to available resources in a fast-paced environment, providing care to critically ill patients with multi-organ issues.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias).
• Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines.
• Start and maintain IVs, and administer IV sedation and vasopressors.
• Caring for stroke (CVA) and ventilated patients, managing BiPAP/CPAP.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and follow isolation precautions.
• Perform triage in the emergency department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience, with 2 years of recent ER experience required.
• Active state nursing license required (New York or compact). If no New York license, application must be submitted prior to start.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• No disciplinary issues (hits) on nursing license.
