Registered Nurse - Birthplace

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position requires providing direct patient care within the scope of practice while directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel, maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. The Registered Nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and/or responses to treatment, ensuring a safe environment for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide direct patient care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching.
• Coordinate activities of other nursing personnel.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being.

Schedule

This position follows a night shift schedule from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License (Nursys certification required).
• Completion of required health screenings and vaccinations, including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, and Varicella.
• Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam and Core Competencies Exam.
• Drug screening and criminal background check clearance.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
