This position requires night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) is responsible for providing delegated aspects of direct patient care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role requires making decisions based on education, experience, and established protocols, demonstrating critical thinking skills, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical examinations and collect data on patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Administer medications and perform peripheral IV therapy.
• Participate in discharge planning and implementation of physician's orders.
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current LPN or LVN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• IV certification.
• Cerner experience preferred.
• Permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility.
