Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe and effective work environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Create individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
• Promote and ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested post-orientation.
• Engage in professional development through ongoing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
