Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift (4x12 hours; 18:00 - 06:30), option for 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides care for laboring patients and assists with couplet care and triage in a dynamic LDRP unit. Candidates should be prepared to support both mothers and newborns during the birthing process and ensure optimal outcomes for both.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Providing breastfeeding and lactation support
• Conducting assessments and interventions for newborns, including monitoring hypoglycemia
• Performing couplet care where newborns room in with parents
• Triage of obstetrical patients
• Post-operative care following C-sections
• Ensuring infant identification and thermoregulation

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Previous Charge experience preferred
