Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate should be adept in managing antepartum and postpartum patients, assisting in high-risk deliveries, and utilizing external fetal monitoring systems. The role involves performing nursing assessments, facilitating communication among healthcare teams, and ensuring patient safety during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care and support to patients in labor and delivery.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal births.
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients.
• Utilize and monitor external fetal heart monitoring units effectively.
• Manage anticoagulation therapy and insulin drips as needed.
• Actively promote patient safety and adhere to isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP (pending certifications acceptable).
• Must possess charge nurse experience with 2 patient ratio experience.
• Travel experience is a plus.
