Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week, with every other weekend commitment.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, maintaining minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain treatment procedures and equipment to patients, providing education upon discharge.
• Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various devices and equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography in accordance with policy.
• Review patients' chest x-rays for further evaluation needs.
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and arterial punctures as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses.
• Communicate regularly with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding patient therapies.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of mechanical ventilation equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must possess a valid Respiratory Therapist license and current BLS certification. ACLS certification is preferred.
