Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan. This position involves supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, establishing a basis for an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to support continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Contribute positively to unit functionality through calm direction and reassurance.
• Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs such as supplies and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities following orientation as needed.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification is required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification is required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts.
