Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by following the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supplies and service needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after orientation.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required before first shift.
• ACLS certification required before first shift for CIRH only.
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• ICU experience and appropriate skills for long-term acute care (LTACH) setting are required.
