Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embodying the core values and principles of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients and families on care goals.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while promoting a safe work environment.
• Participate in team-building activities to enhance unit efficiency.
• Manage necessary supplies and equipment to maintain safe and effective care delivery.
• Engage in continuous professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
