Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown

Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients with various diagnoses, including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, and pulmonary conditions. The unit specializes in monitoring and managing patients in a step-down capacity, ensuring proper recovery and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, including stroke stepdown experience.
• Active New York Registered Nurse license and verification of all active RN licenses.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required for this unit; certification can be obtained prior to start).
• Completion of NURSYS report for license verification.
• Proof of travel experience with matching qualifications.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
