Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical / Colorectal & Bariatrics

Schedule

This position offers a full-time schedule, specifically working nights in a 12-hour format from 7 PM to 7 AM, with rotating shifts that may include 7 AM to 7 PM. The nurse will work a total of 36 hours per week, with a requirement of either 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend. At least one holiday must be worked during the contract period.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing patient care in the Medical/Surgical / Colorectal & Bariatrics unit. This encompasses a range of duties aimed at ensuring the health and well-being of patients within an acute care setting, including administering medications, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical / Colorectal & Bariatrics unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes accurately within the electronic health record (EPIC).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health maintenance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute medical-surgical or telemetry nursing.
• 2 years of U.S. work experience is required for non-U.S. candidates.
• Active New York RN License.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.
