X-Ray Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified X-Ray Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality radiographic imaging to support diagnostic needs.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before conducting x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs per physician's orders.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
• Position patients for imaging, including assisting those with limited mobility.
• Ensure safe handling of radiologic equipment, minimizing radiation exposure to patients.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to ensure accurate patient data and exam specifics.
• Practice the Dual patient identifier procedure for accurate patient identification.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system.

Schedule

This position requires a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with shifts occurring between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST. There is no call or holiday work expected.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State (NYS) Radiologic Technologist license or ability to obtain prior to starting.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Comfortable in the operating room with experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months.
• Ability to lift and move patients as necessary and to stand for extended periods.
