Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, every other holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) upholds the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. Responsibilities include supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while actively promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize educating patients and their families based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the first day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all relevant care providers to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Identify and initiate own professional growth through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
