Job Description

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer will perform cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures and provide quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions. This role involves collaborating with cardiologists to evaluate the heart's anatomy and hemodynamics, as well as utilizing Doppler modalities for accurate assessments.

Responsibilities

• Introduce self and identify patients using two forms of ID.
• Explain testing procedures to patients and review medical histories.
• Perform cardiac imaging procedures, including 2D and Doppler modalities.
• Conduct online calculations to quantify cardiac parameters.
• Report abnormal findings to cardiologists and ensure patient safety.
• Prioritize requests based on patient condition and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Assist cardiologists during transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Monitor report turnaround times and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including cleaning and disinfecting as necessary.
• Order necessary supplies and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.
• Current credentialing by the ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (AE).
• Current certification in BLS.
• At least five years of experience as a cardiac sonographer.
• Strong computer, verbal, and written skills.
