Registered Nurse - Critical Care

Schedule

36-hour, Day shift from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, every 3rd weekend and holiday, Monday to Sunday schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and plans of care for patients. The role requires delivering patient care based on standards and established policies, while ensuring the dignity and respect of each patient. The nurse will also educate patients and their families based on individualized learning needs and coordinate discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient needs, planning and executing individualized nursing interventions.
• Provide thorough, timely, and accurate documentation for all patient care activities.
• Administer medications and IV therapies according to established protocols.
• Monitor and document patient progress, particularly in post-operative phases.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Proactively identify patient safety risks and decrease healthcare errors.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred.
• Previous telemetry experience required; ICU experience preferred.
• Current Massachusetts RN License required.
• ACLS certification upon hire or BLS with the requirement to obtain ACLS within 60 days.
• CCRN certification preferred.
