CVICU Registered Nurse - Contract Position

Schedule

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours scheduled with 24 hours guaranteed. On-call requirements to be determined by the facility.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients recovering from open-heart surgery. This role requires expertise in managing patients who have undergone procedures involving Impella and balloon pumps. Flexibility is expected regarding weekends, holidays, and floating as per department guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the CVICU.
• Monitor and manage post-operative recovery for patients following open-heart surgery.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as Impella and balloon pumps effectively.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient progress and communicate changes to the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 24 months CVICU experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months.
• Active RN license without hits on state license to practice.
• Life support certifications (ACLS and BLS) must be from AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
• Travel experience is highly preferred.
• Driver's license for residency verification is required.
