Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Job Description
This is a large multidisciplinary team with approximately 40 clinicians in a fast-paced hospital environment. Clinicians treat a variety of diagnoses, with a common mix of orthopedics, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care caseloads. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will focus on treatment, including morning ADLs, 1:1 treatment, and facilitating group treatment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality occupational therapy services according to treatment plans for patients
- Document with web-based software and documentation system (EMR)
- Meet all clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations, aiming for a productivity standard of 65% - 75% on a daily basis
- Provide accurate and timely documentation for current patient caseload
- Conduct patient and family education as well as collaborate with hospital staff (physicians and nursing teams)
- Participate in creating a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and communication
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A degree from an ACOTE accredited school
- Current state licensure or eligibility in Occupational Therapy in Maryland
- At least one (1) year of hospital acute care experience
- Experience running Occupational Therapy groups is a plus
- Strong documentation skills in an EMR (preferably hospital-based system)
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Demonstrated skills in flexibility, time management, and communication
- A commitment to providing the utmost in customer service excellence
Schedule
Monday - Friday, Day Shift (6:30/7:00 am - 3:00/3:30 pm) with one weekend day per month.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
