MRI Technician - Outpatient Center

Saturday to Monday, 7 AM – 8 PM

Job Description

As an MRI Technician, you will be responsible for positioning patients on the examining table, ensuring the correct placement of specified coils close to the area of interest as per the protocols provided by the Radiologist. You will communicate effectively with patients throughout the examination and maintain accurate records of the imaging procedure.

Responsibilities

• Position patients correctly on the examining table and use appropriate coils for the MRI scan.
• Use a microphone to establish communication between the patient and technologist during the examination.
• Enter patient data including history, anatomical area to be scanned, and specified orientation into the computer.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort through the control room and closed circuit TV.
• View images on the display screen to verify the quality of the pictures being captured.
• Photograph images and ensure all necessary data is inputted for documentation.
• Alert staff regarding the safety of wearing or carrying metal into the magnet room.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1-3 years of experience as an MRI Technician.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
• Graduate of an Accredited Radiology Program.
• New Jersey State RT License.
• MR Certification.
• BLS Certification.
