Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Services

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 5x8 hours (07:00 - 15:00). On-call required 1-2 days/week and 1-2 weekends/month.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Surgical Services will be responsible for providing direct patient care for various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, general, gynecological, podiatry, C-sections, and endoscopy. The RN will work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure the highest standards of care are met.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs.
• Participate in patient assessments and plan care for surgical patients.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Assist in surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record (Epic).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Must hold a valid RN license (compact license accepted).
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Proficiency in the use of the Epic charting system is mandatory.
