Registered Nurse - Full-Time Days

Primary location: PMC, with potential to float to Main campus as staffing needs require.

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to contribute to long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop coping strategies for managing contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• In accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addressees increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification required via AHA.
• ACLS Certification required via AHA.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
