Registered Nurse - Days Shift

Location

Primary location assignment at PMC, with a potential to float to Main campus as staffing needs require.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (4x10s)

Job Description

The competent registered nurse practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting, demonstrating an awareness of relevant aspects of each situation. Provides both routine and complex care with the ability to address long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the capacity to manage contingencies of clinical nursing, making appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers as necessary to manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meets expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification required via AHA.
• ACLS Certification required via AHA.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
