Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embracing superior quality care as part of the company’s core values. The role also emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to policies for safe patient handling, infection control, and maintaining a secure work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to patient diagnoses and collaborate with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information during team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize education for patients and their families.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and initiate patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and setting priorities effectively.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics and assist in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and equipment repairs.
• Assume charge responsibilities upon request after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule of 3 x 12 hour shifts.
