Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety in various key areas.
Responsibilities
- Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
- Identifies patient teaching needs related to diagnoses and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Offers timely patient status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritizes education for patients and families based on health care needs.
- Initiates discharge planning upon patient admission and begins patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
- Facilitates communication regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Provides supervision, direction, and training to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients and personnel in alignment with hospital policies.
- Participates in team building activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Manages service needs such as necessary supplies and equipment to effectively complete assigned duties.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
- Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience
Schedule
Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
