Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and new staff members while embracing the core values of the organization, which include delivering superior quality, treating others with respect, and focusing on safety for both patients and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
  • Communicate pertinent patient information to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Promote an environment focused on personal and environmental safety.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and the efficient functioning of the unit.
  • Maintain clear communication with management regarding service and supply needs.
  • Assume charge responsibilities post-orientation as required.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside critical care clinical experience is required.
