Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Assignment Duration

This is a 20-week contract position starting on November 16, 2023.

Schedule

Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30. Requires 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights). On-call duties are voluntary.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in handling both low and high-risk pregnancies, with proficiency in external fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. This role involves triage, labor and delivery, and post-partum care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize external fetal monitoring techniques.
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Circulate during C-section deliveries.
• Provide care and support for neonates, adolescents, and adults.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including OB hospitalists and anesthesia staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• EPIC experience is a must.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications.
• Active California RN license required.
