Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN plays a critical role in promoting patient and employee safety while adhering to organizational protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and establish individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure a safe environment by following hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and work environment.
• Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs.
• Assume charge responsibility and prioritize activities effectively.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH Only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
