Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, every other weekend, with holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care for patients in a Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing a patient load of 6 patients, focusing on observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, and more. The nurse will be expected to perform and interpret EKGs, administer blood products, and manage various medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients with respiratory issues and general medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Perform and interpret EKGs as a requirement for all RNs in the unit.
• Administer medications and blood products as prescribed.
• Provide wound care and management of surgical drains.
• Utilize telemetry for monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing setting.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Previous charge RN experience is preferred.
