Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients on our Med/Surg and Telemetry unit. This role involves working with a variety of patient diagnoses, including but not limited to diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and surgical recovery cases.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and manage blood products as per protocols.
• Provide pre and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Perform thorough assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Implement and oversee care for patients with bowel obstructions, colostomies, feeding tubes, and more.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with safety protocols, including Isolation Precautions/PPE.
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams effectively as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting.
• Active nursing license in the state or compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Charge nurse experience and familiarity with electronic documentation preferred.
