Maternal Child Health RN

Job Description

The Maternal Child Health RN is responsible and accountable to a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care through the therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration with other health care team members. The RN demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to the patients under their care, applying principles of growth and development over the life span.

Responsibilities include assessing and interpreting patient data to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. The RN functions as a primary RN in Maternal Child Health areas, including Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother-Baby and GYN patients. Additionally, RNs may be required to float to other hospital areas as needed, following guidance from the Charge Nurse or RN in the assigned department while maintaining high standards of care and safety within their scope of practice.

Schedule

This position requires a 7P - 7:30A shift, with every third weekend required. Block scheduling may be available upon request.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State Licensure
• Basic Life Support (AHA) required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) required upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certified required upon hire
• AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification required upon hire
• STABLE preferred
• Also certification preferred
• Baby-Friendly experience preferred
• Three years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Three years of experience in Nursery
• Three years of experience in Med-Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR documentation preferred

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
