Telemetry Registered Nurse - Cardiac Specialty

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide care in a cardiac telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will work with telemetry patients who have primary or secondary cardiac diagnoses, primary stroke/TIA, and stable cardiac catheterization patients. This role requires proficiency with remote telemetry monitoring via the Hicuity System and the administration of specialty drips.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult telemetry patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
• Administer medications and specialty drips, including Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix.
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry and respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, pharmacy, and respiratory services.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain up-to-date records in the Community Hospital charting system.
• Comply with floating and scheduling policies as outlined in unit guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Maryland State RN License or Compact License.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of charge experience in a telemetry unit.
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and cardiac telemetry necessary.
• Traveler must be comfortable floating within specialty and other units as required.
