Registered Nurse - High Acuity Floor, Surgery Trauma

Schedule

Day shift, 12 hours, 3 days a week. No block scheduling is available.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our high acuity floor specializing in Surgery Trauma. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and work effectively in a dynamic environment with surgical patients, including those with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to surgical patients with varying acuity levels.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, administer medications, and implement care plans.
• Engage in nurse handoff processes with ED nurses and admitting units.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a surgical trauma specialty.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EPIC) is mandatory.
• Active RN license in the state of employment.

Patient Care Environment

The nursing support ratio will be 5:1.
