Med Surg RN - Acute Neuro Unit

This position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900 to 0730, working Monday through Sunday.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN will work in the Acute Neuro Unit, providing care to patients recovering from neurosurgery, neurology, ear, nose and throat surgery, and general surgery. The patient population includes individuals who are both ambulatory and bedridden, requiring varying levels of care and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide care for patients recovering from acute illnesses or surgeries.
• Monitor vital signs and progress in patient recovery.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the specialty.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• ACLS certification.
