Registered Nurse - High Acuity Surgical Trauma

Schedule

Night shift, 12-hour shifts with a 3-day rotation. No block schedules.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to work in a high acuity surgical trauma setting. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with complex patient populations, including those with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a surgical trauma unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in patient handoffs and communicate effectively with team members.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical trauma nursing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records is mandatory.

Patient Population

The patient population includes individuals recovering from surgical procedures, gunshot injuries, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.
